January 2018 jds_user, February 5, 2018December 17, 2020 Holidays Christmas and New Year celebrations over for another year and its time to get sewing again! Firstly a mention of my very talented HSC student Georgie Clarke who has had her garment chosen from so many to be exhibited at the Rosehill Exhibition centre, what a clever and very motivated girl. She came to me with her dress in pieces weeks before it needed to be handed in, having struggled with being a distance education Textiles student..what a feat but together we managed to get her wonderful sections of manipulated fabric and embellishments together!Have a look, http://www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/story/5207141/georgina-overcomes-distance-education-hurdle-for-design-selection/?cs=106 Dates are up for first term and there are some new Tessuti patterns in the studio to try, Tamiko Pants (fun linen pull-ons)Bondi dress(cute frayed trim) and Milenda dress. As usual these suit a wide variety of figures and can be described as ‘elegantly loose’.Have a look on Tessuti’s website, Sewing Patterns We have a new kitchen in the studio, the old one just screamed at the new colour of the walls, so now its grey and white, rather smart I think…hope you agree! Looking forward to starting a new year and some laughter in the studio! J News
